 Lee Lapthorne has a MASTERS in Textiles awarded with Distinction.

He creates innovative luxury handcrafted textiles in his studio based in the English countryside.

Also working within the fashion industry as the Director and Founder of London Fashion Week's On|Off showcase, Lee's work is influenced by fashion and innovation. Hand printed devoré with discharge and fringing, digital velvets, digital sequinned chiffons all imagery is unique to Lapthorne's work.

Lee launched his self-named fashion accessories range in 2010, which is already popular with celebrities such as Jessie J, Paloma Faith, Jo Whiley, Little Dragon and Fearne Cotton since its exclusive launch with Harvey Nichols.

He has produced commissions for The Barbican Centre, Gloucester Cathedral and The Shakespeare Trust. His work has appeared in Vogue, The Sunday Times - Style, Sunday Telegraph - Stella, International Textiles and Design Week to name a few.

Lee is also a visiting lecturer at various Universities including the Royal College of Art and Central St. Martins where he was also External Examiner for Print. In 2019 Lee was appointed Artist in Residence at The Shakespeare Birtha

My main focus is on commission made pieces. Today I also work with new modern pieces as well as reproduction pieces of furniture. I am happy to discuss any type of projects with you. I have the means of sourcing pieces from a large selection of suppliers. I also have an Interior Design service and welcome any enquirers. I am happy to discuss your ideas with you and work towards a proposal that will hopefully fit your requirements.
